This is totally unacceptable.    Copied from Carersuk This is what National Strategy Task Force recommended. National Strategy Task force reports These have finally been published. Just to remind you these taskforces were set up to advise Ministers on what should be in the National Strategy. They were mainly made up of Govt Civil servants but charities and other experts were also involved, including some Carers UK staff. The four task forces were employment, income, equalities and Health & Social Care You can download them from Dept of Health carers website You can see from the reports that the income taskforce recommended a 1.4 billion package of benefit improvements, which as we now know was rejected by Ministers in favour of a more thorough benefits review. In summary the taskforce recommendations were 1. Raise the level of Carer’s Allowance (by around £10 a week) 2. Raise the carer premiums in means tested benefits by a comparable rate (£10 a week) 3. Remove the Full-Time Education rule 4. Introduce an annual grant, illustrative...
