This Coalition government continually ignores public feeling, and evidence, on so many aspects of our lives. I firmly believe though that this is the beginning of the change. A change, for the better, which will come – for all disabled people and their carers. The voices of PP will not be silenced. With so many others we are building alliances – together we keep fighting and we will be heard.

I’m appalled at this governments treatment of the disabled, sick and vulnerable in our society. We did not do enough to support people with disabilities to begin with, we need to educate society to the many forms and descriptions of disabilities, a disability may be physical, cognitive, mental, emotional, developmental. sensory or some combination of these. Disabilities can be visible or invisible temporary, fluctuating or chronic. Society should to educated about disabilities and how a person’s life and daily needs are affected. Disabled people are not scroungers, the government should be held legally responsible for their behaviour towards disabled people. I don’t mind my taxes helping disabled, sick and vulnerable people, I do mind my taxes going to big business and corporations such as A4E and Atos and putting individuals with disabilities that have no cure or chance of getting better through costly, degrading re-evaluations by people who don’t know them. It’s time for positive, productive, truthful change; it’s time to show we are caring, supportive humans to treat the disabled, sick and vulnerable in our society with the compassion and respect they deserve.
